I came, I sold, I conquered...

The BrisStyle Indie Designers Market was a HUGE success. We were so busy, especially in the morning, when I think half of the population of the northern suburbs turned up to view the wares of BrisStyle's local artists, crafters and designers.

It was so busy I had the chance to only take a couple of photos of my stall before we opened. For my first ever market stall I think the set-up turned out pretty well, dontcha reckon?

My mum and sister arrived soon after we opened with an armload of extra booties and bibs to add to the stall. They, and my bestie Nell, stayed all day to help out. I owe them all big time and they have already made brooch requests as payment.

Towards the afternoon I actually got a few minutes to wander around so I armed myself with my wallet and headed out to tick off my shopping list.

First up was flight industries' Poppies print, which I blogged about earlier in the week. It was love at first sight, and clearly clearly meant to be on my wall because when I arrived Sally had but ONE lonely little copy of this print left. Hooray!
Sally has just opened a brand new website which is well worth a visit for all lovers of printed material.

Next on my list was a trip to Ruby 2 Go Go for an awesome vintage accessory. Can you believe Helen gave me this make-your-own brooch for free?! There's a reason we all adore Helen, and it's because she is just generous to her core. Helen, with the help of Sophie from Strat designs was responsible for all the nuts and bolts of the market, which was an enormous task. Helen, we think you are actually Superwoman. Come clean and reveal your true identity!

A trip to Jellygnite's stall rounded out my shopping expedition, as I was then called back to my own stall to serve. Is this the most fabulous fabric ever? Ali has very cleverly bound into this fabric a darling little notebook. I will save it for when I have something very pretty to write.

I am a total sucker for brooches, and bought one from Jellygnite too. It has yummy orange vintage fabric and some text, which speaks of fun weekend things like picnics. What a good idea... I shall wear it on a picnic next weekend and eat cupcakes and drink tea and laze on a rug in the sun.

All in all, an amazing day. I slept like the dead last night, and am inspired to do more creating. Keep your eyes on my etsy shop for new items which will be added this week.

Wasn't it a fabulous day! Your stall looked absolutely delectable. If I hadn't known it was your first market I would never have guessed!!! Your treasures are lovely (I bought one of Ali's notebooks too - I think in a similar fabric. Aren't they gorgeous!!). And a big yay for helping families :)
Congrats on all the success, and thanks again for all the wonderful promotion you rustled up for this. I think a very large percentage of the people who came through were due to your wonderful promotion efforts. Thank-you!!!

Your stall looks great Chrissy! I just wish I had the chance to see it properly on the market day - looking forward to the next one already - I'm planning to set up early so that I can scoot around and make my purchses before the amazing crowds arrive:) Thankyou also for all the work you have put in to promote BrisStyle and the market x

Well Chris, even though my stall was directly opposite yours, I hardly saw it all day because of the crowds you drew like a magnet. First market? Should be be scared? And a big thank you for being responsible for all that wonderful publicity - what a treasure!
